How this website treats personal information.
Big Data (Pty) Ltd is the data controller for this site. We designed the client tools so that a personal balance sheet or assets register is not collected by the practice unless you ask the Managing Partner to look at it.
The law we work under
The Data Protection Act, 2024 (Act 18 of 2024) requires personal data to be processed lawfully, fairly and transparently, for a specified purpose, limited to what is necessary, kept accurate, stored only as long as needed, and protected. You have rights of access, rectification, erasure, restriction, objection, portability and withdrawal of consent. Complaints may be made to the Information and Data Protection Commission.
Personal balance sheet and assets register
The registers are browser tools. Names, assets, liabilities and related figures are typed by you and stored in this device’s local storage so you can return to a draft. They are not sent to our servers when you download a PDF. We do not use those figures for marketing.
If you tick the declaration and ask the practice to review the sheet or register, you consent to Big Data (Pty) Ltd processing that statement to assess the file and to contact you. Review requests are addressed to the Managing Partner at leina@bigdata.co.bw. You may withdraw consent by emailing leina@bigdata.co.bw or info@bigdata.co.bw. Messages are sent through FormSubmit, which processes the message so it can be delivered to our mailbox.
You may delete every draft on this device from the register. That does not delete an email you already sent.
Other collection on this site
Quote requests, booking forms and onboarding notes are processed so we can provide professional services. Legal basis: taking steps at your request before a contract, performance of a contract, and consent where you opt in. We keep client files for the periods required of a BICA practice, then destroy them.
What we do not do
We do not sell personal data. We do not use the register to make automated decisions that grant or refuse credit. The loan calculator is an illustration only. We do not seek information from children.
Your rights
Email info@bigdata.co.bw to access, correct or erase personal data we hold, or to withdraw consent for a review. We will respond without undue delay. If you are not satisfied, contact the Information and Data Protection Commission.
